Irina Shabayeva Capsule Collection Debut

Project Runway’s season six winner, Irina Shabayeva’s capsule collection launch.
From the press release:
SPRING 2011 – Irina Shabayeva, Project Runway’s Season Six winner, injects some adrenaline into Spring/Summer 2011’s line up with the launch of her new collaboration with Macy’s. Shabayeva joined forces with INC International Concepts to create her first capsule collection, available only at Macy’s. For Irina, fashion is not just about clothing – it’s about a lifestyle. Known for her mastery of fit and proportion and flattering garments that accentuate the body, it seemed a natural fit for Irina to work with INC on a new concept in fashion forward sportswear.

THE CONCEPT: Irina for INC is a sportswear collection that evolved out of the notion of movement and dance. Form fitting dresses and separates, notably tops, skirts, jackets and even denim, Shabayeva relied on her ability to create flattering silhouettes with clean lines, modern fabrics and bright colors. To finish the look, Irina for INC includes dance inspired footwear that ranges from Ponte slipper platforms and ribbon tied espadrilles.

THE LOOK: Colors and patterns took a cue from Rubik’s Cube, with strong strokes of bubble-gum brights and rich jewel tones creating bold color blocking on shifts, dresses, and tunics. Vibrant jersey tops and skirts are paired with army anoraks; black and white body con dresses are embellished with exposed zippers, while flirty lace confectionary designs are embellished with jeweled beading.

THE COLLECTION: will launch on February 19th in 50 Macy’s stores including Herald Square (New York City), Union Square (San Francisco), Aventura & Miami International (Miami) and State Street (Chicago) and on Macys.com. Collection includes 13 full looks.”
