Doucette Duvall Interview

Doucette Duvall practices environmental and social responsibility by manufacturing their whole collection in New York City. The designers use pre-existing trim and fabric and ship only in recycled boxes. Each collection also features a “little green dress” to honor their commitment to Mother Earth. Doucette Duvall is distributed in specialty boutiques in the United States and Abroad. Designers Stephanie Doucette and Annabet Duvall formed their clothing line in 2005. As participants in Showroom New York, they are also a part of the cause to save New York’s historic Garment District. Dres Interview

Dres Sport is a juxtaposition of luxurious fabrics with industrial materials. Their signature Lion symbol is prominent on their original clutches, and the signature rubber bottomed totes and bags are all entirely hand made. Dres was formerlly a ready-to-wear designer, showing several times at Mercedez Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles and New York. Dres won the Independent handbag designer award for the “Best Green Handbag” in 2009. His designs have been featured in Vogue, WWD, Marie Claire, and The View. Eva Khurshid

Eva Khurshid was created to address the desires and necessities of the contemporary woman. The concept of the brand is empowerment, and is the core of it’s design philosophy. Co-founders Nyla Hashmi, and Fatima Monkush discuss their clothing line with Modern Glossy’s Maria Giannakakis while exhibiting at Showroom New York. The purpose of this brand is to “exude charm and conviction while leaving some things to the imagination”. The different styles evoke a modern, clean, streamlined aesthetic that caters to all types of women. This collection was inspired by Ancient Japanese Samurai armor, as well as cherry blossom patterns. Fatima and Nyla worked to create special pieces that one can keep in their wardrobe season after season.
