A lovely collection of tasteful intimate apparel made it’s debut during  Lingerie fashion week in New York City.

New York, NY 1 Mar, 2013 – Womenswear has it. Menswear has it. Swimwear has it. Now Intimates has it. Introducing LingerieFW™: the first Fashion Week dedicated exclusively to the intimate apparel industry. The inaugural season of Lingerie Fashion Week  just made its debut last weekend, showcasing FW13 collections Friday the 22nd & Saturday the 23rd at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. Six designers took the stage via runway and presentation: global powerhouse Affinitas & Parfait, luxuriously erotic FYI by Dani Read, innovative NaïS, sultry Nevaeh Intimates, provocative Rouge Séduire and effortless Uye Surana. Lingerie Fashion Week will make its return for the SS14 season this August.

LingerieFW™’s debut season staged shows over a span of two days, offering brands two venues to choose from at the Metropolitan Pavilion: The Gallery offering sleek, white washed Presentation space and the airy Metropolitan Suite offering an elegant backdrop for Runway. The Gallery also played host to guest check-in as well as “The Boudoir” Sponsor Lounge, featuring a Press Lounge with Charging Station hosted by industry Media Partners The Lingerie Journal and CRÉATIONS, a hydrating SmartWater lounge, Gift Suite showcasing the LingerieFW Official Gift Bag, and Dry Bar from LingerieFW™ Hair/Makeup Partner The Temple, a Paul Mitchell Partner School and more. Not only did The Temple pamper guests at the Dry Bar with complementary styling throughout the shows, but also created all of the hair & makeup looks for showcasing designers backstage in collaboration with MAT, Advanced Makeup Education at The Temple and Ultimate Face Cosmetics.

Ultimate Face Cosmetics, The Temple, SmartWater, ZICO: Pure Coconut Water, PopChips, Smolder Perfume, Soak Wash and The Lingerie Alliance all generously donated product to the LingerieFW™ Official Gift Bag, displayed throughout the shows in the Sponsor Lounge Gift Suite. Last night was the inaugural night of Lingerie Fashion Week/2013. Intimates brand FYI by Dani Read kicked off the newly minted festivities. The S&M inspired creations, complete with restraints, gags, harnesses and leashes, are not for the faint of heart. In fact, their tagline reads, “Women are weapons. Dress yourself as such.” The collection was unapologetically bold and radiated power, attitude and dark sexuality. The accessories were surprisingly delicate and subtle, with gold chains trailing down collars and thick metal belts cheekily named “Love Handles Belt” or “Mistress Leash”. The collection had an Egyptian motif which was quite apparent in the final look which was a flowing white robe topped with a gold Isis Headpiece.

Nicole Gill Lingerie


Nicole Gill Lingerie will soon be releasing their third collection named ‘A Beautiful Sacrifice’. The collection will be released on the company’s official website www.nicolegill.com on the 3rd of September. The new collection will include a variety of lingerie and nightwear pieces, lovely silhouette enhancing corsets and girdles. The corsets in the collection were adapted from Victorian styles to create a unique and vintage garment which differs from those currently on the market.
‘A Beautiful Sacrifice’ collection combines burgundy and black silks with black lace paneling and detailing. The collection draws inspiration from the story ‘Miss Saigon’, with an emphasis on the character of Kim, who sacrifices her own life in order to improve that of her son. The darker materials used within the collection are inspired by that story. In addition, ‘A Beautiful Sacrifice’ contains more daring and risqué shapes and designs than those in previous collections, yet remains true to the designer’s familiar sweet and feminine style.
Nicole states that ‘The Miss Saigon story has always stuck with me, I thought it was the perfect influence for my A/W collection as it is dramatic, yet romantic.
Bleding vintage Vietnamese styling with a contemporary twist, Gill creates notable garments such as a luxurious kimono and briefs with ruffle detailing. Nicole Gill’s stunning and sexy designs blur the line between underwear and outerwear, making them an absolute must have in any woman’s wardrobe.
The Nicole Gill Lingerie company was established by Nicole in 2010. The brand has since then released two collections named ‘Welcome to the Tea Party’ and ‘A Parisian Romance’. All pieces from the company are handmade by Nicole using 100% Silk and are available in sizes 8 – 16, bras 32A – 36D.
