YouLiveAndYouLearn.org is hosting a very inspirational fashion show showcasing the talent of five aspiring designers from San Francisco, New York, and Paris 1 1/2 weeks before New York Fashion Week. The event will be held at
The Mohawk Group Showroom, 71 W. 23rd Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY, on Friday, August 27, 2010, 7-10PM. The designers showcased are San Francisco Designers: Daniel Sudar, Melissa A. Bolin, and Amanda Christine, New York Designer: Aviva Falk, and Paris Designer: Tosca Socaya Otten.
YouLiveAndYouLearn.org provides support and aid to many of these individuals leading up to their debut.
Lisa Li recently graduated from Pratt Institute in New York City with a BFA in Interior Design. Following her graduation, she founded YouLiveAndYouLearn.org. Miss Li showcases designer talent as a way to help them gain experience, motivation, and exposure. The funds raised at these events go towards creating art and design programs for students and aspiring professionals.
There will be live entertainment, music, and dancing. Additionally, an onlinebone marrow registration drive will also be on site to help leukemia patients find donors. Tickets are $40. Trina Turk’s debut appearance  at Mercedes-Benz Fashion week Swim was a bright and fresh collection, complete with accessories and beach essentials. Hues of turquiose, orange, violet and pink dominated the colorful line.


The legendary Pierre Cardin is celebrated as a fashion icon in the book, “Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation”.  Cardin will receive the Board of Director’s Legend Award at the Fashion Group International on October 28, 2010. Pierre was born in 1922 in San Biagio di Callalta, near Venice. He then immigrated to Paris in 1924. Cardin worked with the iconic designer Elsa Schiaparelli, then joined Dior in 1946 and opened his own couture house in 1950. Pierre Cardin is an innovator, an artist, and his stamp on the fashion world is indelible as it is memorable. The author, Jean-Pascal Hesse holds a degree in history and has been Director of Communications at the Cardin fashion house for close to 15 years.
